Daniel Reyners was born into a sailing family in Howick, Auckland in 1964, and the sea was always in his heart. He moved to Waiheke Island in 1984 where he would fall in love and raise a family. He passed away in 2021, and his stories are now published in loving memory of him with illustrations contributed by his family.
