Steffi Kurz had only one Christmas wish as a child: a whale, with which she could travel to distant lands and become a wildlife researcher.
She never got the whale, but she did travel a lot later on. Today, she lives with her goats and chickens in the South of Germany, where she writes and illustrates her stories with a view of the mountains.
