Wendy Dodds is a sheep farmer’s daughter from Northland. As a teenager she realised the need for an alternative lifestyle and has spent her adult years exploring this goal. In 1980 she moved to Aotea/Great Barrier Island where the lack of reticulated electricity made sustainable living more of a reality.
She returned to Auckland in 2005 to study philosophy at the University of Auckland and completed her studies with a Master of Creative writing in 2010. She now lives in Torbay trialling sustainable living in an urban setting.
