Gill Hay

Gill attended Canterbury University School of Fine Arts in the 1980s and has been exhibiting widely in New Zealand and overseas for the past 30 years.
Her work is primarily oil paintings on canvas. Gill, a first cousin of the author Jane Parlane, lives in Lyttelton where she has a studio in her home, overlooking the inner harbour. She has a longstanding involvement with a local charity supporting Canterbury children, Cholmondeley Children’s Centre. Cholmondeley provides respite care for tamariki aged 5 –12. Gill did voluntary work with the children, served on the Board of Trustees and was event manager for the Lombardy Charitable trust which ran the fundraiser for Cholmondeley, Sculpture on the Peninsula.
