Ruby is a happy girl who lives with her parents and brother in a cottage by the sea, but one day she comes home from school with a terrible headache, and each day her headaches get worse. Having to spend time at home, Ruby finds that learning about and observing the local birds takes her mind off the pain. One night she hears a strange sound in the bush. Could it really be a kiwi?
